Utilizing and managing all resources God provides for the glory of God and the betterment of His creation. (Holman Bible Dictionary)

Stewardship is at the core of Creations (Re)New. From day one that has meant being a good steward of the earth God has given us, of the gifts and talents He has bestowed, and of the proceeds earned. These are just a few of the avenues for me to give God the glory through my small business. And through stewardship God has grown me so much!
Creating and selling eco-friendly goods is just one avenue of stewardship - using what God has provided for the betterment of His creation. Whether I’m repurposing cast-off blue jeans into a ‘new’ journal cover, sewing up reusable bags, lunch baggies and bowl covers, or packaging up items in recycled/recyclable papers and mailer bags, it’s exciting to know that these simple I make and use help care for God’s creation and reduce waste.
It gives me such joy to use the creative gifts and talents God has given me for His glory - from machine sewing, to hand-embroidery, to designing and producing custom orders, to much, much more! What started out as a little Etsy shop has expanded to booths at craft fairs and farmers markets, and sewing lessons. These live events allow me to share the good news of Jesus - that He died for our sins and offers us eternal life - face-to-face with folks I meet. I can’t help but marvel at how God has brought people to my booth who ask me to pray with and for them - what an amazing privilege!
Giving back to God financially is another aspect of stewardship through Creations (Re)New. Monthly support of local Christian radio station, KAMB, has been an opportunity to give, and has also grown my faith! I’ll never forget the time - in my first year of business - that I’d not made enough to pay my support pledge. I remember praying, releasing it to God . . . and making a sale that covered my pledge to the dollar the day before it was due. To God be the glory!
I’m thrilled to share that in 2020 Creations (Re)New is supporting an additional ministry. Last week I met Karis H, an on-fire missionary who will soon begin ministering to refugees in Phoenix, Arizona. Through her organization, GoTEN (which stands for Go To Every Nation), she will be living in the same apartment complex as refugees, teaching English, and disciple-making through friendship and sharing stories of Jesus (His Word and what He’s done in her life). I am so excited to get to know her more, pray for her, and help send her out to do this important Gospel work! You can learn more about (and partner with) Karis, GoTen ,and GoTen's parent ministry United World Missions here: https://uwm.org/missionaries/31644/
Stewardship is something God calls us all to do. Let’s each strive to use and manage the resources He has given us for His glory and the betterment of His creation.
For His glory and our ultimate good, Mellie
